The Neocatechumenate was started in 1975 with the aim of promoting in every parish the spiritual renewal and the new evangelization requested by the second Vatican Council. Pope John Paul II gave his official approval in August 1990. "I recognized the neocatechumenate way as an itinerary of Catholic formation valid for our society and our times. It is therefore my desire that the Bishops and priests value and support this work for the new evangelization...."
The Neocatechumenate strives to have their members rediscover the richness of their baptism and to deepen and strengthen their Christian lives by:
Holding a monthly Sunday gathering to pray "Lauds" and to share experiences.
Holding a semestral recollection or retreat.
Conducting evangelization programs to spread the Good News to those interested in rediscovering their Christian faith.
Providing open ways of evangelization for those who have abandoned their Christian faith.
Helping fellow members materially through the tithing practice.
Encouraging members to actively serve the Parish in its many projects, programs and activities.
There are at present four (4) groups in Mary the Queen, It is a way of Christian initiation to adult faith by rediscovery of our Baptism. The Good News is announced and gathers a Christian community to walk in a way of faith and conversion. An Evangelization Program is held every year to attract new members.
