Jesus teaches us not to pass judgment on people just because they lie outside the accepted limits of decency and morality. And indeed, Jesus tells us that the tax collectors and other sinners are more likely to enter heaven than the more piously but hypocritically inclined.
Jesus reserved his harshest indictment for the Pharisees and their way of life. They were hypocrites and Jesus lashed at them in the strongest language ever, crying “Woe to you Pharisees and you other religious leaders... How shall you escape the judgment of hell?” Matthew 23: 13-36
Jesus derided their pretense at holiness while at the same time, they would evict widows from their homes without remorse. They tried to look saintly while their hearts were befouled with hypocrisy, greed and sin. Jesus scorned their concern for minutiae rather than on the more important matters of justice, mercy and faith.
Let us eschew the way of pride and hypocrisy of the Pharisee. If we only could follow the example of Jesus who taught that love conquers all! Every goodness evolves from love justice, mercy, faith, and concern for the lowly living in poverty in our midst.

Finally, we pray for one another, for those who have asked our prayers and for those who need our prayers the most.
Have a good day!
