The reading for today tells us of Jesus’ affirmation of his equality
with God the Father who sent him – he never stops working as the Father
goes on working, even on the Sabbath; he performs miracles, not only
healing the sick but raising the dead and bringing them back to life;
and he is one with the Father in his power to give spiritual life for
all eternity to those who listen to him. Jesus tells us that “the hour
is coming – indeed it is already here – when the dead will hear the
voice of the Son of God, and all who hear it will live.” In other
words, even in this life (“indeed it is already here”), through the
merits of Jesus’ redeeming death on the cross, we already share
spiritual union with God. Have we listened to and accepted Christ, so
that we are, here and now, already sharing in his eternal life? Or did
we reject him?

View: Prayer Requests
Finally,
we pray
for one another, for those who have asked our prayers and for those who
need our prayers the most.
Have a
good day!
