ACTS 16:1-10
JOHN 15:18-21

What does Jesus mean when he said “you do not belong to the world”? The “world” being referred to in the gospel is the hostile world. These are people who reject Jesus and are against his will. Jesus’ disciples often meet opposition and hatred from people around them, even from their own family or from their community. This is how the devil works to discourage the followers of Jesus.

When you are discouraged to the point that any thing you do seems wrong, faith in God is most important. Let us remember that once upon a time Jesus was also hated by the world without any cause. He suffered more than anyone can endure because of the hatred of those around him. But because of his faith in the Father, Jesus accepted his will. When our hope does not come from God, trials dishearten us; but when our hope is rooted in God, we are strengthened and remain steadfast. As Jesus has said “You are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world”.

The next time we feel that everyone loathes us, always keep in mind that we are not born to please the world, but God. It is not what others say about us that are important, but rather what God would say.

Finally, we pray for one another, for those who have asked our prayers and for those who need our prayers the most.

Have a good day!
